Hello! I’m Ben Oberender, the proud owner and handyman at Prairie Nest Home Maintenance.

I am a handyman and business entrepreneur, following in the footsteps of my father and grandfather, who worked in commercial maintenance and owned their own businesses.

 

Growing up in a household where we relied on family rather than service professionals, I learned the value of hands-on skills early on. I spent countless hours assisting with rental properties, home remodels, and various projects for family friends, which helped me develop a diverse skill set in maintenance and repair. Above all, my father and grandfather taught me how to treat others and how to make people's lives better through these interactions.

When my wife and I purchased our first home in 2019, I had the perfect opportunity to put my skills to the test on my own. I took on the challenge of remodeling every aspect of our home, and I absolutely loved it! And more importantly, my wife loved the end result!

 

As I worked on these projects, neighbors and friends began to notice my passion and craftsmanship. They started asking if I could help with their home repairs and improvements. After receiving encouragement from many of them to pursue a career as a handyman, I decided to turn my passion into a profession, and the rest is history.
